Professional Consultation
Professional Consultation
Jennifer offers two types of professional consultation: Supervision for license-eligible, mental health providers and consultation. Jennifer’s approach to supervision and consultation reflects over 20 years of experience working in multiple settings with a variety of populations.
Supervision: Jennifer began supervising mental health providers in 2000 and has supervised practicum students, psychology interns, postdoctoral fellows, and licensed and license-eligible clinicians in counseling, psychology and social work. Her approach to supervision parallels her approach to therapy and is non-judgmental, collaborative, goal-directed and solution-seeking.
Given her background in working in health care, schools, and community settings, Jennifer often is asked to consult with professionals about specific clients/patients, professional self-care and health promotion, solutions to complex situations, and program development. She begins consultations with a clear articulation of goals, identification of strengths and struggles, and a collaborative approach to identifying possible solutions and outcome measures.
"Dr. Ayres was a dedicated supervisor who expertly guided me through complex case conceptualization and provided me with immersive training in psychosocial assessment and behavioral medicine intervention. But most importantly, she took the time to mentor me and enhance my professional development by including me in teaching, networking, and program development opportunities. I've never had a supervisor who was so evidently invested in my growth as an emerging psychologist."
